Two Weeks of Theon - What Ifs Timeline Reclist

A while ago, during a more flourishing time of the Theon fandom, I made a poll to ask people what their favorite point of divergence was for Theon-centric What if fics. While the love for mid-ACOK fixits was evident, I saw a lot of love for alternate paths of all sort, something fitting for a character whose arc deals so much with the consequences of impossible choices. So I'm going to propose to y'all an anthology of book-centred Theon fics sorted by point of divergence.

Stuff to keep in mind:

  • The time periods refer to the point where the fic diverges from canon, not where it's set! There are, for example, lots of fics where the divergence is that Robb didn't send Theon to Pyke back in ACOK but the fic itself is set in a far peaceful future, or where the divergence is ten year old Theon being sent to a different House but the fic is set in canon era exploring the consequences.
  • I have not read all these fics and will not be saying much about quality, providing trigger warnings etc. This is a celebration of the fandom's creativity more than rec of specific works, especially as I've also included my own
  • This said, the list will obviously follow my biases and draw mainly but not only from the authors I follow and from the three iteractions of the Theon exchange I modded, so feel free to reblog with your own favorite what ifs!
  • The fics are gen unless a ship specified. Some ships are more overrepresented than others for obvious reasons
  • Some show-verse or show-mixed fics are added so long as they follow a recognizable book storyline for Theon (ie. if they're set before Season 5).
  • Time-travel fix-your-past-life type of fics are placed at the point where Theon goes back to, rather than the point he time travels from

Before the Greyjoy rebellion

Sow The Tide, Reap The Storm, long, plotty WIP, Throbb - as a genderbend, this is technically a canon divergence from the moment of Theon's birth, though it has significant other divergencies at every step of the way

Dear Battleship Creator

Hello and thank you for creating for me! I'll specify my DNWs for the single fandom, but as for what I like:

- Hurt /comfort, in any combination of physical and emotional as long as it's intense and touchy. I especially love mental breakdowns, exhaustion due to overwork, battle wounds, subdrop/domdrop
- Mental illness headcanons, especially in settings where the characters don't have the words to explain what is going on
- Banter, humor, ironic narration, dialogue-heavy fic
- Self discovery journeys
- Character studies, relationship studies, introspection, worldbuilding, backstory. I love to see how dynamics work and what people like about each other in relationships
- Getting together and especially getting BACK together
- Kidfic, both in the raising kids sense and in the characters as children sense
- Angst with an happy ending
- Dysfunctional yet loving relationships, especially with ships from which you really don't expect that
- Dysfunctional families and family dynamics in general, exploration of the cycles of abuse
- Cute shenanigans, adventures, mysteries rescue missions
- Characters being overprotective of each other, whether as gen or ship
- Found family, characters recovering from past abuse and bad experiences with each other's help
- Physical affection, fluff, people having fun together and finding things they share
- Past relationships, exes, background ships, background characters: this was meant to be an opt in, but honestly I just really love to see a nicely fleshed out world if the plot of the fic allows it. For the same reason, I'm perfectly fine seeing more than one requested ship in the same gift, whether they're conflicting or not
- Revenge stories
- In general feel okay with going as heavy in terms of themes as you wish: abuse, suicide/self harm, death, fairly graphic violence etc.. All that I didn't wish to receive I've DNWed

I am open to both art and fic for every request!

Little Women (2019)
Jo March/Beth March
(I'm also requesting videos for this one! I am fine with both videos telling a story and those simply conveying a vibe. Would prefer something soft for them - some of my favorite artists are AURORA, Of Monsters and Men, Taylor Swift especially the last couple albums, Florence, Stars, I also really enjoy musicals and Disney

DNWS
- Rape/noncon between the requested characters. I'm not sure of the line between dubcon and noncon as I don't go there, but really, I don't need elaborate negotiations or asking permission for a kiss or everyone to be perfectly sober when initiating sex or no power imbalances ever, just no unambiguous assault. Rape as a backstory or trigger for hurt/comfort or a background element/reference is ok.
- Sex scenes (most sexual elements are perfectly fine. Mentions, jokes, quick descriptions even if graphic or kinky are fine. I just don't want lengthy porn.)
- Eating disorders/body shaming and insecurity
- A/b/o
- Mpreg
- Soulmates AU or similar magical realism stuff like Hanahaki
- Slavefic
- Incest between parents and children
- Beth or Jo dying

Freeforms:

Carrying - Cuddling - Emotional Hurt/Comfort - Hurt/Comfort- Sharing a Bed - Protectiveness - Reluctantly Accepting Comfort - Lost in Wilderness - Co-dependence

This is all about the soft codependence and hurt/comfort for me (on both sides! Obviously Jo comforting Beth come smost readily to mind but I love the reverse as well), and I enjoy some smarm/ambiguity between what is romantic and what is a really, really intense and codependent sister relationship by 19th century standards. I was just really really enticed by the scenes of them cuddling on the beach and the actresses have some... interesting chemistry! I also love the expanded role here of Beth being kind of Jo's muse - I'd enjoy an AU where Beth doesn't die and when she goes to read Jo's latest despair-induced writings she finds something that gives her pause and it develops from there... but I also love the idea that simply they've always been like that since theyr first sex discoveries

Romeo and Juliet
Romeo Montague/Juliet Capulet

- Eating disorders/body shaming and insecurity
- A/b/o
- Mpreg
- Soulmates AU or similar magical realism stuff like Hanahaki
- Slavefic
- Incest between parents and children or siblings

Freeforms: Survival - Trauma Recovery - Aftermath of Torture - Fugitives - Captivity - Co-dependence -Poisoning - Murder

I'd really enjoy some darker twist on the play that doesn't rely on the titular couple being totally wrong for each other, toxic or pedophilic (my preference is for Juliet to be her canon age with 14-16 year old Romeo, but I'm totally fine with age ups as well!) I'd be interested in an AU where they experience more direct obstacles to their romance instead of it going undiscovered - maybe Romeo gets caught during the balcony scene and the Capulets are reluctant to murder him outright with the recent decree from the prince but hold onto him for a while and make him regret his trespass some other way and that's how him and Juliet get to know each other, maybe they are both more involved in the violence than in the actual play and have had run-ins and conflict before and the story has more of an actual enemies to lovers progression... I'm definitely not a stickler for accurate medieval setting, as Shakespeare himself wasn't, but you can also choose a setting change AU for this! It's such a vague and universal story.
I also have this raging plot bunny where Juliet decides to take up her mother's offer to poison Romeo for Tybalt's murder and promises she'll marry Paris once she's done it - maybe it's an excuse to be allowed to look for Romeo and run off with him, maybe she actually means it in her despair, maybe it's a bit or both - I just love inner conflict and a good espionage/revenge story. Alternatively, the plan goes on well and they managed to run off together, but their families figure it out and hunt them down!

A Song of Ice and Fire

Tyrion Lannister/Sansa Stark

Dancing - Pining While Married - Trauma Recovery - Post-Canon - Animal Acquisition - Hidden Skills Revealed - Fugitives

This is my recent otp and I'd really enjoy anything at all stemming from their first cursed marriage into a happy ending! I'd enjoy them deciding it's best to stay married while Tyrion is hand to whomever ends up ruling Westeros and they have a kind of lowkey power couple thing going on (particularly if the monarch in question is Dany, which I would love, I imagine the hand's wife would have a lot of the female responsibilities which generally the queen consort has) and a friendly partnership but then they both end up lowkey wanting more... Alternatively, them escaping King's Landing together instead of separately after Joffrey's wedding and something slowly blossoming when Sansa gets older, or something with the war goes differently and they end up ruling Casterly Rock together! I definitely enjoy a fluffier tone for this - though the fic doesn't have to be light - but for them I just really enjoy domestic intimacy, their mutual enjoyment of the finer things in life and stories and intrigue, getting used to each other's brand of snark and developing a back and forth (one of my favorite moments is at Joffrey's wedding where they're both extremely sad and out of sync with one another yet they're both snarking on the songs that are being played and how inaccurate they are to each other now and then), how much they yearn for simple romance and being loved... I'd really enjoy happiness for them, getting to know each other and developing their own ways to use their different political skills in sync. Also, maybe babies!

Solo: Sansa Stark

Post-Canon - Trauma Recovery - Canon Divergence

I'd just love to see a happy ending for Sansa. I'm a bit burned on the Queen in the North concept due to not really loving the execution in the show, so I'd love anything else! Her getting to marry for love! Her having some important role in the future/rebuilt King's Landing! Maybe she's lady of High Garden or of the Vale, maybe she and Brienne travel the seven kingdoms together as bard and hedge knight... the possibilities are infinite and I'd enjoy any ship or gen pairing with her.
Alternatively, something that branches from canon earlier, like the HighGarden plan panning out, her and Arya running away together somehow or even switching places, her being used in some other political marriage... I just really enjoy canon divergences for this fandom

Asha Greyjoy&Theon Greyjoy

Reunions - Hurt/Comfort - Hurt No Comfort - - Post-Canon- Childhood backstory - Canon Divergence - Captivity - Beaches

There are several options here:
- kidfic! Childish adventures in the sea, handling their accursed family dynamics, the way they dealt with the war... They didn't seem to have a terribly peaceful relationship as children, but they clearly loved each other. Bickering and pranks feel very natural, but also mutual comfort and easiness and going through such a scary time together, Asha's feelings about Theon's exile etc
- during canon! Again, fighting, bickering, possible UST due to Asha's questionable methods, sibling sparring
- unfortunately, post Reek. Lots of hurt/comfort and confiding and trusting in each other at this point, I just want soft interactions between them so bad. Sailing together, maybe ruling together once the war is over. I feel like its so unaddressed that by the time they reunite in adwd they pretty much fucking hate one another and while the immediacy of the situation means they have a bit more tenderness for one another, they have a lot to sort out
- Canon divergences that allow them to have a bit more of a relationship - them both being taken as hostages as kids, Theon deciding to listen to Asha's advice and take Bran and Rickon hostage and return to Pyke with her and how THAT affects their rivalry/power dynamic

Asha Greyjoy&Balon Greyjoy&Alannys Harlaw

Character Study - Childhood backstory - Grief/Mourning

This is just one of the many situations/family dynamics in asoiaf where I'm just... What's going on there? What were the dynamics like in the aftermath of the rebellion? What does Asha mean with her mother raised her ti be bold? Was she always kinda her dad's favorite/allowed to be gnc or is it a very abrupt development once she's the only viable heir? What was it like for her to basically owe her whole position and opportunities to losing all her Brothers? What was the progression with Alannys' breakdown, when did she leave etc. Feel free to involve any other Greyjoys, I love the fucked up dynamics!

Loras Tyrell/Sandor Clegane Rescue- Hurt/Comfort - Road Trip -- Unexpected Mercy - Canon Divergence -Revenge

I started shipping this while writing a whole different thing and now I can't unsee it. These guys are obviously very at the middle of GRRM's whole debate of knighthood and I am a huge fan of Loras' tiny, out-of-focus personal descent into cynicism with the end of his tragic teenage romance and passing from the chivalric romantic atmosphere of Renly's campaign to being involved into more and more court intrigue. And of course, it's very likely that post canon he's also disfigured by burns! I feel like it could be very similar to Sandor's dynamic with Sansa, but with the seeing himself in her dialed up to 11. I can see a whole lot of settings for this, King's Landing in an AU where Sandor doesn't leave or during or after the war for the dawn. Maybe having some sort of quest together! Also - AU where Ned agreed to send Loras ti put an end to Gregor's raids and he somehow succeds in killing him would be so juicy, with Sandor being torn between being glad and pissed Loras took his vengeance from him...

Tris Botley/Theon Greyjoy

This is just extremely soft and sweet. The "Theon finally gets a nice boyfriend" power fantasy mixed with "Theon gets to enjoy Ironborn culture again in a context not constantly humiliating for him" lol. I'm mostly into this for fluff, whether canon or AU, any sweet, supporting post canon/post Ramsay moment, childhood sweethearts etc. I have an AU where they're both taken hostage after the Greyjoy Rebellion so that could be a good concept for them also. I have a soft spot for this as a love triangle type of thing with Robb and kind of representing Theon's moment of detachment from the Starks so anything with that would be awesome.

Inheritance Cycle
Murtagh/Nasuada

Canon DivergenceHurt/ComfortAftermath of TortureSecret MarriageMarriage of ConvenienceCaptivity
Would love something post - ending, about Murtagh's return to Alagaesia after his self-imposed exile, his recovery from the king's trauma and so on. He and Eragon teaching the new riders together, or he and Nasuada trying to tentatively rebuild a life together, running into all the difficulties their role imply - people wouldn't be thrilled about a traitor marrying their queen. Maybe they conceived a baby during Nasuada's captivity?
For a canon divergence, an AU where Murtagh is rescued when Thorn is still small and the king hasn't managed to steal their true names yet. How does his presence change the war? How differently does the brotherhood reveal goes? Wouldn't some sweet slowburn battlefield romance be nice? Or the reverse - Nasuada's vision in Inheritance coming true and them having ti stay as Galbatorix's supporters in a political marriage, maybe working to take him down from the inside, maybe genuinely corruptes...

A Song of Ice and Fire

Theon Greyjoy/Robb Stark/Jeyne Westerling

This has so much potential. Robb's motivations for sleeping with Jeyne are at the center of so much debate and have so much potential for starting dramatic love triangle shenanigans in an AU where Theon never left for Pyke or returned to the Northern campaign before it was too late. The idea of Robb deciding to wise up and offer Jeyne a marriage to Theon instead could also be very fascinating, especially if we do assume he felt some sort of romantic feelings for her! I think their relationship is very damaged in canon by the fact there's so much baggage to their marriage and Robb is so stressed the whole time, but I could see their infatuation becoming something more serious if they are in a different situation. Or a story in which the Red Wedding doesn't happen or Robb survives it, how do they carry on politically? What kind of rivalry or complicity do they develop?

Loras Tyrell/Sandor Clegane

I started shipping this while writing a whole different thing and now I can't unsee it. These guys are obviously very at the middle of GRRM's whole debate of knighthood and I am a huge fan of Loras' tiny, out-of-focus personal descent into cynicism with the end of his tragic teenage romance and passing from the chivalric romantic atmosphere of Renly's campaign to being involved into more and more court intrigue. I can see a whole lot of settings for this, King's Landing in an AU where Sandor doesn't leave or during or after the war for the dawn. Maybe having some sort of quest together! Can also see some type of army AU (of any historical period) or something like that where the dynamics may translate.

Theon Greyjoy/Tristifer Botley

This is just extremely soft and sweet. The "Theon finally gets a nice boyfriend" power fantasy mixed with "Theon gets to enjoy Ironborn culture again in a context not constantly humiliating for him" lol. Romeo and Juliet

Romeo Montague/Tybalt/Mercutio

I'm extremely hot for this dynamic. Romeo and Mercutio are such sweet bickery friends and Mercutio and Tybalt are obvious foe-yay who, if anything, clearly see through each other's bullshit quite well judging from Mercutio's speech, and Tybalt and Romeo's interactions are so hot, with Romeo's absolute candor and earnestness and also snark with "I see thou knowst me not" showing how, honestly, he's above all this childishness even as he's the one getting called "boy". Add jealousy to the mix (by Tybalt for Mercutio preferring a Montague to him? By Romeo seeing his friend prefer a destructive FWB situation to his own sappy romantic avances? By Mercutio suspecting Tybalt has darker intentions towards his friend? the possibilities are limitless!) and you have a lot of potential. Would enjoy historical or organized crime AUs that give a bit more oomph to the conflict for this, as well as a more dark and gritty take on canon era.

The Cabin in the Woods

Worldbuilding

So, huh, the worldbuilding possibilities of this one is something I've been obsessing over ever since I saw the movie. I adored the implication that in every country the horror movie is different, so I would love a story from the point of view of another country's secret lab, such as the one with vulcano they show in the movie but also a completely made up one. What influences on reality do they have to take in account for the movie to work? What's the premise? Do they have a creepy cellar equivalent that calls the shots on what monster will feature, or is it something that avoids monsters entirely, focusing on human serial killers or anxiety regardin man VS nature or whatever? Do they riff on the US formula but adapting it to their culture with more local boogeymen? (I'm thinking of stuff like A Classic Horror Story). I'm woefully ignorant about non-US horror tropes so I would really love any version of this. You can also explore the story of the Japanese schoolgirls too. Is it the same movie every year in Japan too (I imagine its a bit harder to get away with every year than the "5 dumb teens go missing in the woods" setup, tho you obviously can also... not apply real world logic to this movie) or is it more diversified, just like Japanese horror is more imaginative than slasher? Do the girls have their own archetypes going on? (I'm still seething at CinemaSins complaining about having kids there when the archetypes include whore and athlete. First of all its so unimaginative to assume the archetype would be the same, and second anyway why can't one of these baby girls be a jock?) How do they find a solution? WHat's the story of the demon?

Uh - beyond this horrifying wall of text I'd be seriously into any worldbuilding at all. Slice of life from the characters we see in the movie in their day-to-day operations - how they select the kids, whether it's getting harder these days with better technology and security and all. I found it interesting the "teens" where actually well into college - is this commentary about teens being less unsupervised out and about for shenanigans now than in the 80s? Is there any creativity involved or is it always rehashing the same movie? Was it always like that? Is there some creative personality who really pushes back against it and always risks ruining the whole thing with their ideas? What's the workplace culture like? Also, what other monsters were available for the kids to choose, what history was made up for them, what would have happened if they'd been chosen?

Dear Yuletider!

Hello, dear Yuletide writer! This is my first time doing this exchange, so I hope I have given you a pleasant and reasonable selection of prompts to be inspired by. I'm aware the fandoms involved are all over the place in terms of obscurity and how many ideas I have about them, but you can stand assured that for this exchange I have picked only things that would make me terribly, self-indulgently happy and I want them all equally. So:

- Slavefic
- Incest between siblings or parents and children
- Voluntary abortion (miscarriages and child death are ok)
- Setting AUs, My exception is Romeo and Juliet, which I think lends itself well to setting changes, though I have a preference for AUs that aren't mundane , if it makes sense, but keep some of the stakes of the original plot - for example I wouldn't really like a coffee shop AU or a plain high school AU, but the characters involved being in high school (as would be unavoidable given the ages) while in, say, an organized crime AU would be lovely. Historical, horror and fantasy AUs are also lovely, though I dislike sci-fi.

Likes

Jerusalem Delivered

Tancredi
Clorinda

I obviously ship them, but I'm not opposed to a more gen/introspective take. I love them both as characters individually, with the extremely guilt-prone overthinking woobie personality that is typical of Tasso buried under an appropriate level of warrior stoicism. Something where Clorinda survives the duel (hurt/comfort? mutual hurt/comfort?), whether she might regret her conversion, and how what happens when she finds herself very much alive and having to deal with what her dying choices mean for the war, her involvement in it and her loyalties. Sensual sparring, the fire/water symbolism their story is so full of, wartime romance tropes in general whether as enemies or later allies. You can also skip entirely Clorinda's conversion if you prefer so as I realize that, while it is a sweet bonus to me, the whole religious crisis aspect is not everyone's cup of tea.

The poem is crystal clear about how Tancred falls in love (and his kink for scary ladies running at him with a sword, bless him) but not much about how Clorinda does, since she avoids him for most of the poem. Is she repressing, or is it her last conversation that seals it for her, with the kindness he shows her in listening to her dying wishes? I also love the concept of Clorinda appearing to Tancred in dreams when she's dead, so an alternative take on that, where they have more of an actual conversation maybe VS her just being a motivating vision, would be lovely.

Worldbuilding

This is my favorite play, I just couldn't narrow it down to any permututation of characters. I've been in the fandom for a lot and I just can't get enough of it in any way, I'm open to canon era (however smoky such a concept is, being set in the 14th century and written in the 16th, I don't really expect historical accuracy) but also to any AU, however tropey or niche, that you think fits the themes. The only things I ask are that the presence of a feud with potentially deadly stakes is kept and that, if you deal with Romeo and Juliet's romance in any way, it is not made out to be an obviously ridiculous idea that could never have worked out. I'm open to them being shipped with someone else, or breaking up or never meeting or being gay bffs who decided to arrange their marriage to bring peace to Verona: I'm just exhausted with the "dumb horny teens who any sensible person can tell are wrong" take on them. Having other characters as unreliable narrators diss them is totally fine though.

The ships I personally like are Romeo/Juliet, Benvolio/Mercutio, Tybalt/Mercutio, Tybalt/Benvolio, but I enjoy outlandish pairings of all kinds, whether het, m/m or f/f. I'm also very fond of reading about the dysfunction of the Capulet family, and I'd love to see interactions we don't see in the play, especially involving Juliet. I'm not going to prompt for all configurations of nine characters, so I'm just going to talk about some aspects and scenarios that I think can fit whatever character you wish to add.

In terms of both worldbuilding and character driving fic I'd really like exploration of the feud in terms of... how did it start, how it affects relationships and life in Verona even beyond the specific Capulet-Montague fighting, how children are raised to uphold it and how they internalize it etc. I'm especially fond of friendship kidfic involving Romeo, Benvolio and Mercutio and their first run-ins with violence, usually both productions and fics tend to act like only Tybalt is fucked up by it and, despite my love of fucked up Tybalt, it's such a waste. You are absolutely free to pick any level of horrible things these people do to each other. An outsider POV, for example Nurse having to get used to work for the 14th century mob family, would be super interesting too. Or Romeo and Juliet having a bit more time to talk and really go into their issues and how they deal with all this and with their families. Also, canon divergences! Mercutio dies and Tybalt lives? Mercutio lives and Tybalt dies? Benvolio accidentally kills Tybalt in act 1 scene 1? (I have an extreme fondness for Benvolio getting dragged into violence out of feelings of honor and responsibility VS Romeo getting dragged there out of essentially love) Friar Lawrence manages to prevent Juliet to kill herself though Romeo is dead and then? What happens? She wants revenge or does she reconciles with her family? An incredibly intriguing plot bunny to me is also the idea that when Lady C offers to help Juliet send someone to poison Romeo in vengeance for Tybalt she accepts to delay the marriage and then she has to handle being in a sleuth mission against someone she very much doesn't want to kill. A silly AU I love is Batfam AU, with your choice of kids being the bickering sidekicks of some adult who decided to do something about the feud. If you want extra inspiration, I have more prompts in my past letters as well.

Dear Little Black Dress Creator

Hello, and thank you so much for creating something for me!

First of all, a few basic premises: my DNWs for this exchange are quite different for each request and different from my usual ones. I want to assure you that this is not accidental and you can take each DNW list at face value. This is an exchange where I'm aiming to be surprised so I tried to keep the options as open as possible.

I'm also open to absolutely any ship that I didn't DNW: I'm a huge fan of nonsense combinations or characters that never met, but all the canon or common fanon ships that I wouldn't be happy to receive have been DNWed, so feel totally free. I'm not fussed about age gaps and I'm totally fine with any incest that I didn't DNW

Regarding explicit content, smut doesn't really do anything for me, so I prefer it not to be the focus of the fic or art, but I won't be squicked by a brief sex scene, or a graphic/kinky reference, especially if it's IC and fits the story.

General likes

Here is the stuff that REALLY drives me crazy and is 100% guaranteed to enhance my fic if included.

- Dysfunctional yet loving relationships, especially with ships from which you really don't expect that
- Dysfunctional families and family dynamics in general

Art Likes
- Bright, or anyway distinctive colors, pretty much any style, nice natural landscapes, especially the sea
- Small comics
- Illustrations of canon moments
- Affection/snuggling/kissing, soft and intimate poses
- Animals/babies/cute things
- Wearing each other's clothes, especially with crossdressing involved

Opt ins:

This is not to be interpreted as "tropes I'm meh about'" but rather commonly DNWd stuff I like and doesn't bother me if included in fic, but I'm not asking you to go out of your way to include (nor that you should go out of your way to include likes either, again totally fine with ODAO, but you get me). Feel free to also ask the mods for anything not included here

- Gender/sexuality headcanons. Honestly literally any headcanon you have
- Pretty much anything stylistically (person, tense, 5 +1 fix, song fic for all i know… Just feel free)
- Underage as long as it's over 13
- Torture and violence, though I prefer it not be excessively graphic, but you can trust your judgment, it's not something that will ruin my gift in any case
- Suicide/self harm
- Abuse, of any kind for this exchange honestly. I normally DWN noncon but for some combinations here it's unavoidable
- Character death, unhappy endings
- Canon divergence

- Theon/Ramsay

The theme of this request is "I love these boys, would love to read shipfic for them someday". Theon is probably my Absolute favorite character in ASOIAF, in term of backstory, character development and themes (as well as the fact I just love assholes that are snarky and annoying instead of brooding, and that the Greyjoys have always been my favorite house). However I never really managed to ship him seriously with anyone - het is ofc hard when he's a sexist asshole and none of his relationships with other guys have really excited me. I'm open to really any point in canon for this to be set in - obviously I'd be thrilled for any sort of post-Ramsay happy ending, whether back on the Islands (I'd love for him to be King, or Asha's hand), on the Wall or in Stannis' army. Something in his brief time back home in ACOK/during his first raid would be great, with a lot of potential for his frustrations to come up in unexpected ways and, ah, possibly going to desperate measures to connect with his men. Admittedly there's not so much shipping fodder in that time but I really love unusual ships with minor characters.
If you enjoy puppy love/ill-advised pre-teen self discovery I'd love something set in his first years at Winterfell - it's a really interesting situation/clusterfuck psychologically and I'd love to see how he deals with puberty/first infatuations in the middle of it.

As for Loras, I do enjoy the idea of Loras/Renly (though I don't have much of an opinion on it - iI'm open to it being portrayed as less unambiguous high romance than Loras seems to think it is), but Loras doesn't really stand out to me as an interesting character until after Renly dies. He's so beautifully tragic, and him going on to King's Landing, to be involved with war and scheming and a fairly ugly situation for his whole family with this baggage of his tragic teenage romance turned into a fairytale by his attempts to romanticize everything is just breathtaking. I think his conversation with Sansa in ASOS, where she tries to talk to him about the tourney but he can't remember it, and his association with the guy he had unhorsed that day is now that he murdered him in blind rage after Renly died, is one of the richest thematic moments in ASOIAF.
Basically, I'd really enjoyed some kind of happy ending after this. I'm keeping up my hopes that he's going to survive the current book and it would be nice to see him fall in love again, either during his time in King's Landing or in an hypothetical future. I really enjoyed his interactions with Jaime and anything challenging his ego/position on knighthood like that would delight me. And I'd love any potential kidfic since how good he is with Tommen in ADWD is so adorable.

Ok, to start I want to say, especially regarding Ned, Jaime and Cat but the girls as well, that this is a fandom where I really love arranged marriages between people who have never met, with the potential of having huge ripple effects (especially if they happen at the time of Robert's Rebellion or earlier) and bringing together people who don't really meet in the books or meet once but it's not explored much, but who have parallels or a role as thematic foils. Which doesn't mean the romance has to be with the arranged spouse, necessarily - I love the Westeros tradition of banging your inlaws! In general intrigue and backstory fic would be something I really love. I don't really have much to say about these three except that I love their character arcs as well as their amazing chemistry with literally everyone they meet as well as each other.

Asha, like her brother, is a write-me-their-grocery-list-and-I'll-be-happy fave to me. She's such a troll at heart but with some really compelling conflict and I love her. I'm really fond of her canon thing with Qarl, how it looks like a FWB arrangement but when you see her POV its surprisingly romantic and a much needed source of emotional support for her, but I was also dazzled by the show making her bi, even if I didn't always love the execution. Overall I'd like really anything for her -istinctively I'm drawn to a type of partners-in-crime/battle couple dynamic for her, but theres lots of options, especially if you imagine her being Queen of the Iron Islands (or lady, but honestly I'd really prefer for them to be independent) and needing to make alliances. Or something set during her teenage years! I think it always gets overlooked what a weird position she was in after the rebellion, having to suddenly make up for three brothers and being her family's only hope (apparently she was allowed to play with axes and so on even as a child but presumably it wasn't expected she's have to actually do anything with it) and also the only family member that get somewhat along with everyone, given what we see of the rest of the Greyjoys. Its a really interesting time to explore, and you can easily handwave her meeting pretty much anyone while out on a raid or something.

Sansa is such a lovely character to play with, I love her social intelligence and her artistic mentality and her occasional lapses of WTF child logic. However she's another that I really love as a character but I don't find easy to ship - she's obviously everyone's fandom bycicle and she has so many great interactions so how can anyone possibly choose? My favorite of the vaguely canon supported options is definitely Sansan, and I'd love something similar, with a vibe of redemption and tenderness. I definitely lean fluffier than darker with her but thats mostly about the ship dynamic - the tone can be anything you like and I don't require sunshine and roses or an happy ending. It would be nice to see an AU where things go differently for her, but not necessarily better, and she goes about her journey of maturation and political awareness in a different context. The narrative offers so many turning points - AU where she's ransomed, AU where the Tyrell's plans pan out, AU where Stannis wins Blackwater... The possibilities are endless
If the love interest is much older I'd prefer nothing explicit to happen or the fic to be set in a future where she's older, but I'm perfectly fine with just Sansan-style romantic tension with anyone at her canon age.

This has always been my favorite play, but it took me a while to really appreciate Romeo as a character. He can come across as a dumbass but I love his earnestness and innocence, and the suddenly hardened and wiser version of him se see in act 5. I was always intrigued by his extremely melancholy and avoidance and I'd really enjoy some exploration of how he feels about the feud, as the Montague heir presumably of fighting age, and how it impacts the eventual romantic tension with his friends/enemies. All the boys in this play are such foils for each others, and you have my blessing ti go towards darkfic that takes more advantage of the pervasive atmosphere of death, vengeance and violence in this otherwise very fluffy fandom!
As for canon, while I get where the "Romeo and Juliet is not a love story" come from, it always seemed extremely tender and genuine to me, I love how on the same wavelenght they are (of course that would be better expressed by them having actual conversation in prose, lol, but thats indeed what fic is for.) Therefore I would prefer, if you do something else, that Romeo and Juliet just never met rather than the usual tongue in cheek jokes about 'lol, wouldn't it be funny if that was a real relationship'.

As for Benvolio, well, he's just such an easy woobie unfortunately, with the ending and all. What I said wrt feud dynamics is also valid for him - I find it very fascinating by how many people he gets accused of being hypocritical about his involvement and acting above violence when he's really not, though of course Mercutio might be kinda exagerrating. So belligerant sexual tension and battle couple vibes are both welcome. Post ending angst is also delicious!

Your choice on whether to achieve that by giving her a fun romp with some minor character, a genderbent version of Laurie/Bahr/Brooke or whomever, incest (this book is a huge guilty pleasure of mine, esp after the 2019 movie's glorious Jo/Beth smarm) or, if you feel brave, some other lady from any 19th century novel. I'm totally open to have to do Canon review to read my own gift for this, honestly, but some of my favorite authors are Dickens, Hugo, Dumas, Tolstoy, Dostoevskij and the Bronte sisters.
I stand by my opinion that, Baher's puritancal motivations aside, literary criticism is sexy and I'd be thrilled to have this set through Jo's wacky adventures with publishing, but I'm quite open to anything.

Dear Worldbuilding Ex Writer

Hi, thank you so much for writing for me!
This letter will be its own thing due to the different nature of the exchange but feel free to look at previous letters for less worldbuilding-oriented likes and prompts. My ao3 account is amitye

Likes/Opt ins

- Graphs, timelines, diaries, academic papers, family trees... pretty much any format
- Pretty much anything stylistic actually. If you can somehow writing worldbuild-y filk or 5+1 fic I will absolutely not object
- Kidfic
- Fraught family dynamics, especially but not only ultimately loving but misguided ones
- Angst, hurt/comfort
- Absolutely any headcanons you might have, identity or not
- Ironic narration, trope deconstruction
- Canon divergence
- Poly
- I'm fine with any dark themes such as character death, suicide, abuse, rape etc as long as it otherwise respects my DNWs

General worldbuilding special interests

- Anything about kids - conception of parenting, education, life milestones
- Arranged marriage
- Folk songs and myths
- Fashion
- The way cultures built around senseless violence cope with it and rationalize it or romanticize it (as you can see with absolutely everything requested in this letter)
- Understanding of mental illness in cultures that don't have words for it
- Gender roles, especially ones that are still somewhat patriarchal but not quite overlapping with real world ones
- Anything to do with animals
- Anything to do with seafaring/water symbolism

DNW
(I'm aware most of these won't come up into worldbuilding but still)
- Eating disorders/body image issues. I sort of handwave this one for The Handmaid's Tale because I'm aware the nature of the patriarchy is that every once in a while someone accidentally reinvents diet culture, but please don't make it too central a theme
- Extended sex scenes. Anything short of that is fine - mentions, jokes, descriptions of sexual mores, quick descriptions of sex etc. It's not really a squick, I just get nothing out of written porn
- Incest (cousins' okay)
- Hanahaki
- A/B/O, mpreg
- Abortion
- Minor/adult relationships with large age gaps. I'm going to be unironically recommend the half your age + seven rule here. Doesn't apply to ASOIAF

The Cabin in the Woods

Original Character(s)
Any or no CHaracter
WB: the making of the ritual
WB: rituals/horror movies in other countries

I adore this movie and I'm so curious about the worldbuilding of it!

Feel free to make it a 5+1 or something like that with the various other objects you can see in the room.

Any Career
WB: career district academy system
WB: Evolution of the games in history

This is a huge nostalgia fandom for me! Unfortunately, as I was at the very beginning of the YA age range when the book came out, I was one of those kids who really missed the point of it and was mostly attracted by violence instead of the relevant social message. I really imprinted on that scene of the book where Cato cries out to Clove to stay with him and shipped them a lot, and then developed an interest in the Career district. Now I am no longer 13, I would really like to read something nuanced about it! You can focus on any of the three districts or all three, and I would really love if there was cultural difference between them. I'm a book fan, so I would prefer district 4 to be considered a career district, although possibly one of a different mindset - it's clear that Suzanne Collins waffled a bit on whether it should count as one or not.

Is the fact the Career districts are allowed to train something official, funded by the Capitol, or more hush-hush? The ones we see are quite sadistic, but is that the common type of kids who end up volunteering or are they outliers and most see it as an awful but ultimately worth the honor and money thing to do, and someone would have to be in the arena anyway so why not someone who can win? How is such a mindset enforced on the kids? Is there a mythology developed around the Hunger Games, or special kids' media that revolves around glory and war? Some of the Victors are probably involved in training the volunteers, but are there any who are against promoting volunteering and do something about it?

Something that also interests me is how it interacts with class divisions. Is volunteering for the games a widespread dream, something that's considered more typical of poor kids who are considered somewhat expendable and don't have many other prospects, or something weird that the elite's kids do? Are most parents happy to have a child volunteer or is it their worst nightmare and a kind of extreme rebellion?

Is training somewhat compulsory? Is it free or, again, something you have to pay for or possibly get a scholarship for? How are the volunteers selected (if at all, they might also as well be simply picked randomly at the moment of the reaping). Are 12-15 year olds volunteers a thing? How does it intersect with family planning and the lives of teenagers in general? (One of my childhood galaxy brain headcanons was that District 2 kids in long term relationships would try to get pregnant at 16 in order to be ready for one of them to volunteer at 18, so even if they died they'd had already continued their family line. In hindsight this is extremely stupid, but I'm not opposed to this kind of stuff.) Is there... literally any mental health help for Victors at all?

Now going to the other prompt, my interest in the development of the Games through history was sparked by Christian Blanco's youtube series Tales of the Hunger Games and by The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, but your writing absolutely doesn't have to be compliant with it! (I'd rather it not be compliant with the youtube series in fact)

Clearly the Games went a long way from their first very rough iteration to the flashy affair of the 74th, but what's the timeline? When and why did they first set up parades, training days, the tessera system, sponsors and the formal structured schedule? By the books clearly everything was in place by the 50th edition, so what subtler changes were there after that point?
And how was the Capitol kept interested in the Games after the generation that experienced the rebellion was no longer in charge? It's a pretty hard thing to make people swallow.

The Handmaid's Tale
Original Characters
WB: Upbringing of little girls and their sorting in the three categories
WB: the second generation of Gilead
WB: Econwives

I'm so, so ready to be creeped out of my mind by this. I really loved everything about this book, the pervasive body horror, the perversion of sisterhood, the twisted biblical references - just love it. Something that interests me here is that we see Gilead as an extremely new society, obviously built on the remains of a previous one and the class divisions of a previous one. But how does it work in the second generation? If one third of the women are having their own children clearly the women's position can't be hereditary, so how is it chosen which girls are sorted into each position? Lottery? Class division? Girls who misbehave in any way are demoted? The Wives' position as essentially doing nothing is also something I can't imagine lasting too much in a world where they're not responsible for having children or running an household, so how does that role change?

I'm super interested in the role of sexism in education/gender socialization, so I would be super stoked about some sort of school story, or something from the perspective of a teacher. (What would even be the social position of a teacher anyway? I suppose it wouldn't work out for this kind of hyperpuritanical society for girls to have male teachers)
To what extent is there something we'd recognize as an actual education at all, versus just what the narrator got in her Handmaiden training? How does it differ for the cathegories? Is there any age in which all girls are together to be split later?
What sort of mythology is there to make the girls Swallow The Lie when relative gender equality is so fresh still in collective memory and it's something quite more unnatural than any patriarchy that actually existed? How are romantic love and motherhood even conceived? To what extent are girls kept apart from boys as kids? (I actually would enjoy a boarding school story specifically if your mind goes there. I'm not hyper fond of the posh British-style boarding school tropes, but something more dystopian like this is my id)

Finally I'm very curious about the Econwives concept! I love the way what is a relatively normal life of being an housewives is turned into horror and an unwelcome fate to be avoided because being a mother + being a wife are now just tasks one on the top of the other. So, what horror is involved here? Is it purely a class thing?

WB: Origin of the feud

So, we all know it's thematically relevant that we never know how the feud started, when it started even, if it's related to power or money or ideology or simply personal issues (I would very much prefer to avoid stuff like "Lord C stole Lord M's fiancè", but vengeances and such are very welcome!). However, we'd all like to know! How is it passed on from father to son? How are the kids taught to hate each other? Is there a lot of murder involved or was the duel an unfortunate fluke? Are there vengeance cycles happening?
How much does it extend in the extended family beyond the bubble of the main lords and their kids? What is everyone expected to do to support their family's cause? Do the kids who crash their enemies' parties go there to spy?

I would really enjoy a medieval-mafia-movie take on this kind of like The Borgias was marketed. I requested the characters I imagine to be more involved in this, (Romeo from the play gives the impression of avoiding conflict and hatred as much as he can, and as I ship Romeo/Juliet I imagine him to be quite young to be expected to do much anyway) but you can absolutely involve any character.

Original Character(s)
WB: consequences of having a socially inappropriate soulmate
WB: Everyone is born with the first words from their soulmate tattooed
WB: Portrayal of romance in media (
WB: Problems with soulmate recognition
WB: Traditions

I'm so intrigued by this because soulmates are something I don't really love in straight up romance (it's among my usual DNWs) but eat up meta and speculation about it like ice cream.
I requested my favorite type, where people are born with a tattoo of the first words their soulmate will ever say to them, but feel free to choose other types too (or mix and match!) if you so wish, as long as you explain how it works.

I'm really curious about what all the periphery our society puts around romantic love would look like in such a world. What obstacles and plot points are common in romcoms/plays/romance novels when obviously the amount of will-they-won't-they you can have is quite limited? Is there still homophobia or opposition to interracial marriages? I read this super dark tumblr post about kids who were born with words in foreign languages tattooed would have the tattoo burned or cut off before they could read it, and I love this type of stuff. Is it common for people to just... don't reply to the first words from their soulmate so they'll never know, if the soulmate is for some reason inappropriate? And arranged marriages? Is it common to simply accept you might meet your soulmate while already married and have a relatively tolerated affair with them (or just angstily pine forever!) or do parents try to trick their kids into thinking they're soulmates, micromanaging what words they should say to each other and so?

Is there some system in place to avoid 99% of people's soulmark being "Hi" or "Excuse me"? What happens when soulmates meet as toddlers and exchange their soulmark words without then remembering about it?

A Song of Ice and Fire
Asha Greyjoy
Theon Greyjoy
Aeron Greyjoy
Any or No Character
Original Character(s)
WB: Religion of the Drowned God
WB: Gender Roles in Ironborn culture

I'm super fascinated by the Greyjoy family, both from an aesthetic and cool Viking gothic standpoint, and by the intricate layers of fucked up dynamics it offers. I'd really love something set in the past, during Balon's rebellion or the youth of Euron/Victarion/Aeron with whatever the fuck was going on with them, or Asha's really weird teenagehood of having to make up for three lost sons while figuring herself out as a GNC young woman in a very questionable society and dealing with her parents drifting away from each other. Ofc this is only an idea and you can write something set in any time or no time at all!

The Ironborn religion, while not gone in depth, is so appealing to me. I love everything about the mysticism of the sea and the mythology is so fascinating. How does it intersect with the extreme "we used to be great once" complex of the Ironborn? WHat's the afterlife like? Is there a symbolism or sacred role ascribed to any sea creatures? What's going on with the Farwynd who can skinchange into marine animals, are they viewed as abominations or closer to God or they have their own weird cult beliefs? What are the rituals for births, funerals, weddings etc. like?

The gender roles thing mostly came to me because while it's an highly patriarchal place, there's not really the courtly and diplomatic system that is the role of women in the mainland, so what are noblewomen expected to do? How much of an outlier is Asha? How does marriage work? We know that Alannys took up fostering boys after their sons' death - is it something women are supposed to take care of or considered an original, mainlander idea she got from her weirdo brother? Really. anything that comes to you I'll be happy to read. I have the worst "write me their grocery list and I'll be happy" situation with this archipelago of weirdos

Dear Heart Attack Writer (WIP)

Hi, and thank you so much in advance for taking up this challenge. I hope this letter is helpful, feel free to take a peak at my past ones for a general feel of what I like too!

Likes

Here is the stuff that REALLY drives me crazy and is 100% guaranteed to enhance my fic if included.

- Dysfunctional yet loving relationships, especially with ships from which you really don't expect that
- Dysfunctional families and family dynamics in general

- Underage as long as it's over 13 and without like… 10+ age gaps or manipulation
- Torture and violence, though I prefer it not be excessively graphic, but you can trust your judgment, it's not something that will ruin my gift in any case
- Suicide/self harm
- Abuse, as long as it isn't a requested character being the abuser
- Character death, unhappy endings
- Canon divergence

DNWs
- Rape/noncon (unless said otherwise or backstory
- Cheating
- Unrequited love that doesn’t end either with getting together or with the pining character meeting someone else
- Slavefic
- Mundane AUs, which I define as AUs that completely skirt from the original plot, as opposed to those that keep something similar to the plot and stakes of the original canon but changed to a different setting/context. This isn't super clear so feel free to avoid AUs altogether or ask for clarification through the mods!

Romeo and Juliet

Benvolio Montague/ Mercutio

I enjoy them as a very sweet, supportive relationship, but I'm open to and honestly craving some darkness/angst too. A story of how their relationship evolved (from childhood friends, maybe?) would be really sweet. Maybe Mercutio did date Tybalt when he was younger and there is jealousy and possessivity? In a lot of adaptations that have each family as a gang Mercutio and Benvolio seem to be co-leaders, so maybe some cool heist-fic or anyway something exploring the worldbuilding of the feud and how they face it together? Something about Mercutio's death, their last moments together and the way Benvolio has to live with it afterwards.
Something that really intrigues me about them is that dialogue where Mercutio pokes fun at Benvolio for being a violent drunk and in general much more prone to anger than how he acts - and I don't like to think he's joking or talking about himself, Mercutio is really good at seeing under people's masks. So some backstory to that conversation would be nice. Do they have similar things they fight about? I imagine them as having started out as friends with benefits, so did someone get hurt in the process of admitting feelings?I like the idea of both being terrible about it - Mercutio trying to defend himself from vulnerability with clowning, Benvolio being so attached to the idea of himself as stoic and rational and ending up making a mess instead.
You're welcome to involve Romeo as much as you wish, trio shenanigans are always lovely! If you go with them being older, or even just more worldly and protective, I think I would enjoy them worrying about their friend's relationship with a Capulet and doing sleuthing about her and so on.

Mercutio&Benvolio Montague&Romeo Montague

These boys are such a fluff magnet to me, and I would love a story of how they met and became friends. What kind of pranks and shenanigans do they get up to? Is their dynamic always like this or did Romeo moping spoil everything? What is the impact of the feud on them? How much Romeo and Benvolio worry about Mercutio on a daily basis? I think a thing I love about them is how they each have their dynamic with each of the other two and these dynamics can conflict a little, so I'd be really interested with any fighting and torturous making up. Feel free to heap on communication issues and inability to understand their own feelings, they're teenagers after all, it's more than normal. Alternatively, hurt comfort! Maybe they survive the events of the play, but they're hurt or emotionally scarred and have to be there for each other. For example a situation where Mercutio survives the duel, or where Juliet dies for real and Mercutio and Benvolio have to keep Romeo from following her.

Benvolio Montague&Romeo Montague

I love these boys, and I hate how much fic in this fandom tends to pit them against each other. I would just like something sweet and loving, where they may have conflict but it's clear they ultimately would die for each other. I would love kidfic for them, before or after they met Mercutio. You can also play up the dysfunction and crime family aspect of the Montagues, focusing on how they only had each other to whitstand the pressure and expectations and, also, the fact half the town wants them dead and they're supposed to want them dead back when they're two marshmellows who absolutely can't carry on a blood feud on their own. Maybe they're given some sort of heist/sleuthing mission/attack to do as a rite of passage into adulthood together and they have to support each other through it. Otherwise, dealing together with Mercutio's death in a situation where they actually have the time to process it. I imagine Benvolio to be a little older than Romeo, and therefore feeling very responsible for him, but I would love them to be mutually protective of each other and of Mercutio too

The Idiot

Lev Nikolaevic Myshkin/Nastasya Filipovna Barashkova/Parfyon Semenovic Rogozhin

Ok, full disclosure I'm... not sure where I'm going with this. It's obviously a disaster pairing in every e way, but... honestly it's borderline canon? Nastya's story is so raw and real and beautiful, caught between a safety and happiness that feels like pity and the call of self destruction. And all the murder, and the boys having the gay train ride and the crosses exchange and the sleepover with the corpse... you get me. For something more canon compliant I would love something from Nastasya's pov on these events, maybe epistolary or diary entry style, about her internal struggle. If you want to make it canon instead - well, maybe an happy AU where they all escape together, or one where Myshkin stops Rogozhin in time and they all understandably end up in an asylum and sort of have to rebuild the relationship from there. I'm definitely into badwrong and everyone caring about their own lives way less than ideal here, but also that sense of chaos and cloying affection and codepedency you get from the book. When I was studying this in college, my professor highlighted how these three characters are the ones that stick out and are antisocial and irrational in the middle of a perfectly normal bourgeois romance story, and I love this concept. Love doesn't have to be healthy or safe of rational when these are the only people who are like you enough to understand or love you.

Jerusalem Delivered

Tancred/Clorinda

I'm aware this pairing is a huge shot in the dark, but I would love anyhing about them. Something where Clorinda survives the duel (hurt/comfort? mutual hurt/comfort?), whether she might regret her conversion, and how what happens when she finds herself very much alive and having to deal with what her dying choices mean for the war, her involvement in it and her loyalties. 5+1 of Tancred complaining about his pains in love to his comrades! Sensual sparring, the fire/water symbolism their story is so full of, wartime romance tropes in general whether as enemies or later allies. You can also skip entirely Clorinda's conversion if you prefer so. The poem is crystal clear about how Tancred falls in love (and his kink for scary ladies running at him with a sword, bless him) but not much about how Clorinda does, since she avoids him for most of the poem. Is she repressing, or is it her last conversation that seals it for her? I also love the concept of Clorinda appearing to Tancred in dreams when she's dead, so maybe a 5+1 of that is also a concept.

Dear Fic In A Box creator

Dear creator, thank you in advance for creating something for me!
First of all, consider everything in this letter to be completely optional, especially in the case of special mediums, as I have never received one before and don't know well how to prompt, not to mention I'd be over the moon with everything. Length or amount of prompts has nothing to do with my desire to receive any fandom or pairing, only how much overthinking I have done about them!
Now, here for the general stuff:

Opt-in mediums clarification:

- I just don't have a developed enough taste in music to prompt songs, but I strongly prefer songs with lyrics over instrumentals. Just in case you need any inspiration, feel free to completely ignore: I enjoy musical showtunes, indie, my favorite artists are Aurora, OfMonstersAndMen, Skillet, Laura Marling, Halsey etc. I also prompted some fan music for the specific fandoms
- Probably irrelevant, but I'm Italian! If by some cosmic consequence you are too, feel free to bust out the De Andrè discography etc, especially for r&j.
- I enjoy both videos that tell a story and video that simply explore a theme/character study. Unfortunately I didn't do much nomming so i didn't prompt much in terms of solo characters but it's not necessary to make a video shippy as long as there's some character I requested in there
- I don't have much of a preference in terms of effects used etc. But I do prefer colors over black and white
- When I say Shakespearean-style theatre, I mostly imagine that stuff where Star Wars and ASOIAF scenes are rewritten as if they were a scene from a Shakespeare play, with asides for inner monologue and all. I love them.
- I am very amenable to everything for comics and art likes in general! Again, I prefer having color, and I love focus on expressions and characters and all but really whatever fits your style. I'd be over the moon with anyhing
- AITA posts can be serious or more comedical, based on real events of the plot or some shenanigan you made up, no preference. You can always involve unrequested characters there as commenters etc.

So, I'll be sort of light on prompts because I just don't have a lot of ideas for the opt-ins, but if you need any inspirations my former letters are here, my Tumblr is team-mom-wannabe and my ao3 account amitye. I tried my best but probably didn't take the best look at the various opt-ins so if there's anything that inspires you but haven't requested feel free to contact me!

I love AUs for Shakespearean fandoms, you can truly get wild with that, but for this one I would prefer it keeping some of the high stakes of the feud in mind, even if it's lighthearted. Like, characters are in high school while the plot happens is okay, the feud is between two rival frat parties I'd rather avoid. I'd also prefer no age ups - Juliet being her canon age, Romeo 15-16 and the other boys no older than their late teens.

For a quick explanation of the opt ins: first of all, a lot of them aren't shippy, so feel free to use any combination of the requested characters for them. I'd prefer fanvids to use footage from the 1968 movie or some niche adaptation than the 1996 R+J. Honestly for the music I'd love any old fanvidding staple (If I die young, This is war, Daniel in the Den, Lucy, So cold, you know the genre) but I don't have huge preferences, I trust you. For animatic/filk there is the option of using the Romeo et Juliette musical by Gerard Presgurvic too. For costume design I am absolutely fine with any AU or canon era. Conspiracy boards are in my mind mostly for Bencutio or Tycutio or Tyvolio (or straight up a poly thing, frankly, though I forgot to nominate it) - these boys would totally have conspiracy theories about each other/the third element that they're jealous of, especially influenced by the feud. The rest I think are pretty self-explanatory

Juliet Capulet/Romeo Montague

I have such a sweet spot for these stupid babies and would like pretty much anything about them.I'd especially love a modernized version for a comic, showing how things change yet they stay the same. In fic, I'd love some exploration of their personal issues and how they seem to be the only people who truly understand each other in city of people who are cynical at best and murderous at worst - Juliet's family is pretty obviously abusive and a really fascinating clusterfuck of terrible dynamics, but Romeo seems pretty unhappy with his life as well, though he does at least have friends, it's easy to imagine he feels misunderstood and definitely uncomfortable with masculinity and violence expected of him. Otherwise, what if everything goes alright and they manage to get married in front of their families, what drama does it entail? What if instead of killing herself Juliet goes on a vengeful rampage (after all, her mother was planning to poison Romeo - she might very easily blame someone else for his death) ? What if they run away together and go explore Italy and have fun? There's so many possibilities.

Tybalt Capulet/Benvolio Montague

Of these boys, I really love the potential they have as foils. Tybalt is war and Benvolio is peace, but it's more complicated than that - Tybalt obviously thinks Benvolio's peacemaking is just a facade, judging from the opening fight, and I feel like he is right to some extent, at least in the sense that while Benvolio avoids conflict for safety and to avoid trouble with the law he doesn't really feel any more warmly to the Capulets than Tybalt does to the Montagues, which to Tybalt reads as hypocritical. And a lot of Tybalt's fightiness stems from a frankly sad tendency to see literally everything as a danger and threat.
So, I'd love any situation that allows to contrast them - rival gang leaders? they're both in love with Mercutio and having a lowkey pissing contest about it? Some combination of their parents having murdered each other? They both have some job of representing their family for an important occasion and keep sabotaging each other? Some weird BatFam AU where they're sidekicks to the same brooding vigilante (...Escalus?) and also throw down on the regular because their approaches are so different? (They have such a Dick and Jason vibe, good lord).

Mercutio/Tybalt

Ah, the apotheosis of enemies to lovers! I imagine them having a very fraught relationship, with their very clashing personalities and Mercutio's Montague friends, but I'd also like for there to be some genuine affection and protectiveness for each other, purely UST based relationships don't do it for me. I like the idea they truly have fun with all these fights they have, and in some way they can only be themselves with each other, where Mercutio has someone who doesn't go easy on him, compared to his much softer friends and a family that well, is royal, so is probably somewhat restrictive to him, and Tybalt is able to genuinely express his own feelings and be more than his family's sword arm. I like the idea he's both horrified and fascinated by Mercutio's freedom and shamelessness, and Mercutio has such a way to see into people and figure out the things they're hiding. A development of their relationship would be really cute, or maybe a situation where they're exes by the time the events of r&j happen, a getting back together story. One of the two getting kicked out for some misbehavior and only having the other to turn to. Maybe a situation where Mercutio survives the duel (and the stabbing was mostly accidental I suppose) and they have to navigate this mess? In general for them I'm super wild on H/C where the comforter caused the hurt. Bonus points in this one for banter and Mercutio's wild imagination exploited to the maximum potential

Benvolio Montague/ Mercutio

A very sweet relationship compared to the previous ones, but lots of potential all the same.
Something that really intrigues me about them is that dialogue where Mercutio pokes fun at Benvolio for being a violent drunk and in general much more prone to anger than how he acts - and I don't like to think he's joking or talking about himself, Mercutio is really good at seeing under people's masks. So some backstory to that conversation would be nice.
In general they have such a lovely dynamic that fits slow burn friends to lovers or a nice comic perfectly. You're welcome to involve Romeo as much as you wish, trio shenanigans are always lovely! If you go with them being older, or even just more worldly and protective, I think I would enjoy them worrying about their friend's relationship with a Capulet and doing sleuthing about her and so on.

Benvolio Montague/Prince Escalus

This is a guilty pleasure of mine: you can lean on the age difference as much as or little as you want, since most portrayal of Escalus are 40-ish or anyway middle aged, but there have been fairly young ones too and one of the historical figures he might have been based on died at 27 - I would though prefer for Benvolio to be 18-20 if you write this one, rather than underage. My first image for them is post-play, during the long adjustment period that one can imagine follows the end of the feud - how does Benvolio actually feel about, given that he always leaned towards peace but he also has a very huge and very recent reason to not feel peacefully inclined to the Capulets? He might willingly volunteer to help Escalus in his goals (a huge guilty pleasure of mine with them is Buddy Cop AU, modern or adapted to canon era with Benvolio being hired in the prince's guard maybe?) or rather he might go through a phase of depression/rebellion that Escalus kinda has to snap him out of... one way or another. Of course, it doesn't necessarily have to be post play: there's a lot of potential in Benvolio sneaking off to sleep with his best friend's uncle on the sly, or even just having a crush for him, maybe unconsciously getting involved into fights because he gets off being yelled at or something.

Solo: Juliet Capulet - Solo: Lady Capulet

Doing these together because I'm also really interested in their relationship, but it's totally okay to have them in a different circumstance!
So, you can find a lot of my thoughts about Juliet down in the crossover section, but I think there are so many fascinating dynamics she's in the middle of! What was her childhood like, given she was obviously a lot closer to the Nurse's family than her own? It's not known when Nurse's daughter died, so maybe they were friends before that, and it's kind of why Juliet doesn't really seem to have any other friends despite having female cousins, because she can't get as close to any other girl? Were she and Tybalt best friends? Something else I find very interesting is her relationship with her mother, who is interesting because, while a lot of adaptations have her as a sort of stepford wife/pageant mom, is actually very interesting because like... she routinely assassinates people? She speaks her mind pretty openly? So it's not just an issue of Lady Capulet wanting a perfect little doll for a daughter, I actually find it interesting that, while 13 year old unmarried Juliet is expected to obey and shut up, she's actually being groomed to be a sort of Lucrezia Borgia-like figure, similar to her mom, except... she could totally be that way (the way she spins words to lie to her mom in Act 3 Scene 5, or how she manipulates Friar Lawrence making him think she's gonna kill herself) but she just hates the way of becoming like that. Since she can see her mom isn't happy or having functional relationships with anyone, and she's rather cold and distant with her, whereas she wants to be able to love and be sincere.
It would also be interesting to see Lady C's past, as a very, very young mother married to a much older man, and the fact so many of her children died, as Lord C says "Earth hath buried all my hopes but she", and of course that's valid with Juliet too, how impactful was it for her? Were they all stillbirths or did any died in infancy/old enough for her to have bonded with? Is this why she's so kind of resigned about Tybalt's death? This got dark.
Also an interesting thing: Lady C's relationship with Tybalt, and her brother (did he die? I feel like it's widespread fanon that he did die and that's why Tybalt is kinda adopted into the Capulet house but also nothing really indicates it in canon so) and how she might project one on the other. I don't like Tybalt/Lady Capulet sexual relationships, but I do love how she cared for him, and I like the thought he found him more compatible than Juliet to her and was kinda more maternal to him

Medium Opt-In: Conspiracy Board
Medium Opt-In: Excerpts from a Character's Journal/Notebook/Sketchbook
Medium Opt In: AmITheAsshole post

Here the opt-ins are pretty self-explanatory, I think, given how canon establishes that conspiracy boards are kinda how baby Bruce copes with things. You can bring on any unrequested characters for the AmITheAsshole post, given how both the relationship here could draw a lot of mileage from the poster being called out en-masse for their poor relationship handling. Feel also free to combine the two into a sad pining teen love triangle! One thing I ask is that you don't make too many parallels/links to other DCU media, both because I'm very fond of these dynamics and am not hugely interested about reading about those characters as adults, and because I'm very new to the DCU fandom still.

Bruce Wayne/Selina Kyle

These two are just the death of me, both in their early seasons tender puppy love and in their later teen drama. A bit of adventure/slice of life from their time in the street together would be great, or the background of the whole saga with Selina's mom, maybe with Bruce trying to track her down (excellent conspiracy board material!) and soft hurt/comfort afterwards. And similar instances of Bruce's weird contorted "throwing money at stuff to solve people's problems and maybe THEN I'll deserved to be loved!!" love language. Or maybe in season 1 Bruce does actually get kindapped by the spirit of the goat and Selina for whatever reason is the one to rescue him! I love how much of Selina's looking for a gang is really her looking for a family, and any happy ending of that kind for them would be great.

Selina Kyle/Bridgit Pike

Kidfic! History! They obviously went through so much together. (Incidentally, a song they make me think off if you're inclined in that direction is Run for your life, the Fray) I love how Selina has this mom-friend streak and wants Bridgit to fight for herself - she'd be so miserable she ended up being exploited again like she was by her brothers. I love the idea of her running with the Goddess of fire thing to get close to Bridgit, keeping the show of being her servant up until she trusts her and she can try to bring her real self back. Which is a great long-term fic, but I'd also love a simple scene in that episode in the Arkham secret room, with all the angst of having to talk to her friend as someone she's not, serving her and like soothing her burns and stuff to try to get her trust but her heart is breaking all along.

For fanvids, filk and animatic, in addition to whatever unrelated song that might inspire you I signal you the excellent renditions of in-universe songs (as well as original fan songs) by Karliene and christocakes

Asha Greyjoy & Theon Greyjoy

There are several options here:
- kidfic! Childish adventures in the sea, their relationship with their other brothers - we know so little about Asha's feelings for them, it's such a pity - the way they dealt with the war. They didn't seem to have a terribly peaceful relationship as children, but they clearly loved each other. Bickering and pranks feel very natural, but also mutual comfort and easiness and going through such a scary time together, Asha's feelings about Theon's exile etc
- during canon! Again, fighting, bickering, possible UST due to Asha's questionable methods, friendly sibling sparring
- unfortunately, post Reek. Lots of hurt/comfort and confiding and trusting in each other at this point, I just want soft interactions between them so bad. Sailing together, maybe ruling together once the war is over. Maybe a little past Throbb, and Theon confiding to Asha about it?

For either of these, feel free to bring in whathever members of the Greyjoy family you feel like. Their dysfunction is like crack to me.

Aeron Greyjoy&Theon Greyjoy

Doubly so about the Greyjoy dysfunction. Bring it on. But this has potential for really good dialogue and slow begrudging mutual respect - there are a lot of parallels between young Aeron and Theon, especially if we go with the theory Euron abused him, sexually or otherwise, and the way Aeron was "reborn" just like Theon. Kidfic is an option here too as well as post canon! Bonus points for Ironborn culture worldbuiling and nice sea imagery/funky sea creatures. The aesthetic of the iron islands is just beautiful.

Jaime Lannister/Ned Stark/Catelyn Stark

These three are so hot. I struggle to prompt actual plot for them because thing is - I just enjoyed their dialogues so much? I adore how Jaime is still so hung up on Catelyn's "shit for honor" remark two whole books later. I love how Jaime feels judged by Ned fifteen-something years later.
I'd also love a situation where Jaime is discharged from the Kingsguard after Aerys' murder and, for any reason (feel free to go in depth about it in fic! I love marriage politics) the marriages don't go as in canon but Catelyn is sent to marry him. Just two extremely reluctant (and in Jaime's case, probably depressed) teenagers having to make this work, culture shock, family dynamics, maybe babies? And in all this, maybe Ned joined the Kingsguard before Brandon's death and now Benjen is the heir, or he's married to Cersei or he's a kingsguard (in Jaime's place!!). Alternative, Jaime has to go to the wall after Aerys' murder and stops at winterfell, or he's sent there by Robert for whatever reason, whatever to get them all in one place. I'm very interested in UST for them, and fraught conversations about their obviously very different ideals that slowly blossom into romance. A scene similar to the bath in Harrenhal where the Starks confront Jaime about Aerys, maybe bringing up Brandon's death, and Jaime break down and reveals it. Any kind of them parenting all three together would MAKE MY DAY. Jaime and the little Starklings is just such an iddy combinatio to me. I'm not particular about how you deal with Cersei, but I'd prefer she not be more abusive or guilty against Jaime than in canon. Maybe she can't handle continuing their relationship while she's queen, maybe she dies young, sad as that would make me, maybe they simply drift apart.

Jaime Lannister/Brandon Stark

This intrigues me so much. Why does Jaime think Brandon is so similar to himself? I don't think they would have managed to meet much in canon. Maybe there was a quick flirt at the tourney of Harrnehal before Jaime was sent away, just enough to leave a strong impression and make Jaime having to watch him die terribly angsty. Or maybe Brandon is held prisoner for a while and Jaime manages to save him, or maybe even more dramatically he murders Aerys in full view of everyone and they run away, extremely traumatized but determined to be together?

Colin Hyland/Alexander Vass
James Farrow/Oliver Marks
James Farrow/Oliver Marks/Alexander Vass

So, I'm not going to break this one down into ships because this is a cast that I always kinda view as ensemble, but I would love any theatre kid shenanigans! This includes the opt-ins, of course: costume design and casting for these kids doing any Shakespeare play of your choosing, in an alternative universe where the teachers chose different stuff or simply as a, like, pet project they had or post canon. You can go full pretentious here, that's what dark academia is for, I welcome any lenghty philosophical/artistic discussion, just as I welcome extreme offstage drama. Maybe some other jealous students are sabotaging them!
I would be very interested to see how Colin and Alexander's relationship continues post-canon, how Colin deals with the immensity of horror and drama in Alexander's life that he's kinda an external observer to - or did the juniors get up to some equally awful stuff? It's your choice.
It's not in the book, but Rio also said Oliver broke up with his high school gf because she also auditioned for the school but didn't make it - it would be interesting to see how the boys help him through that and everyone's feelings about it. Or of course, interesting theatre exercises, like the one with the animals, that lead to UST and so on...

Othello

Medium Opt-In: Costume Design
Medium Opt-In: Theatre - Shakespearean-style
Medium Opt-in: Character Analysis
Medium Opt-In: r/AmITheAsshole Post
Medium Opt-In: Poetry - Any Nominated Style of Poetry

So for the opt ins it's the same situation as r&j: I love AUs so you can totally give me your modern interpretation of the characters just like renaissance costume porn, both for fic and for costume design. The rest I think is self explanatory.

Desdemona&Cassio

Their friendship is so sweet! I love what an insecure, overachieving mess Cassio is under all the poise and perfectionism and it would be very cute to have some backstories on whether they knew each other before the plot started. There are throwaway hints he's married in the play ("a fellow almost damned in a fair wife") so what's that about? Was Desi at the wedding? Do they REALLY not get along that she's never mentioned and he sluts up with Bianca with no problem, or did she like die tragically in childbirth and Iago didn't know? I love hoe protective of him Desdemona is and I love the idea it's mutual.

Desdemona/Othello

What were their first interactions like? According to the play, fucking amazing. I love how Desdemona envies Othello's adventures and told her she wishes she were a man to live such experiences, but also how she comforted him when he told her the worst (seriously there's so much going on? What's this thing that he killed his brother? And he was a slave? Will explaiiiin). They just have such awesome chemistry, and I love the idea that Othello knows Desdemona more than most people in a sense (the "Oh my fair warrior" <3). She's clearly enjoying herself so much as a military wife, and they were so good for each other until they weren't.
I have no preference on whether you leave them with the big age difference the play kinda implies or not: tbh I also like interpreting the line where Othello says he's too old for the pleasure of the flesh as simply irony of how everyone expects him to be a sex fiend, or him being ace. It's the first time I request this so I don't have many prompts, I just want something happy really.

Kaz Brekker/Jesper Fahey/Inej Ghafa/Matthias Helvar/Wylan van Eck/Nina Zenik
Matthias Helvar/Nina Zenik
Kaz Brekker/Inej Ghafa
Jesper Fahey/Wylan Van Eck

These are pretty self-explanatory, I think. I want to see Kaz's conspiracy boards so much. Again, not going to break down prompts by ship because this is a very ensamble cast to me. One thing is that I didn't read anything by Bardugo beyond this duology, nor do I have any interest in the Grisha trilogy or Kings of Scars, so please not too many connections. I do know of Hanne's existence and I would be happy to see her interact with Matthias and Nina, just please not in the canon situation where she's shipped with Nina and Matthias is dead. Friendship or, why not, poly triad are great.

As for prompts, there is a world of adventures for these kids to have! Whether in Kerch or on a trip - it would be so fun to see them traveling together, maybe filling up poor Colm's farm or visiting each other post ending. For Kanej, the Ordeal of Kaz meeting Inej's parents, maybe they could rope him into doing a magician's act for their circus! Do any of them have kids post-ending? Do Nina and Matthias (I'd really love an AU where he lives, though ofc its not necessary) have success with their activism in Fjerda? I also feel like something we were robbed of is Marya's persepctive on Jesper and her reunion with her son, so that would be a great addition.

Crossover

I don't normally request crossovers and I feel a bit weird about it, but these are pairings that always struck me as logical. Feel free to have a simple snapshot/scene for a comic, if you are unable to get into backstory in the space you have - a conversation or hurt/comfort/cuddling or Juliet helping Cordelia into armor or idk

Juliet Capulet/ Cordelia (King Lear)

Ok, so, this is kinda a spite-response to the various shipping together of unrelated Shakespeare ingenues who don't really have parallels beyond "tragic and romantic", but I love how similar their ethic ad way of expressing love is. One of Juliet's most fascinating traits to me is how good she is as lying and deception - and yet clearly despises it, which is definitely a reflection imho of something that was expected of her. Like, maybe her parents are grooming her to be more of a Lucrezia Borgia figure than just a chaste submissive maiden, at least once she'll be married, but she despises that, she values opennes and passion and sincerity (her snark about how other girls pretend to be shy but she can't do that in the balcony scene is just... such a 13 year old not-like-other-girls mood, bless her) and who embodies that better than Cordelia? They have a very similar way to talk about love, with the fixation on whether it's something that can be counted/divided or not, and I just want dialogue between them so much. Cordelia is herself someone who has a lot of experience of treachery (probably more hands-on, being a princess rather than random barely-nobility) and in my opinion consciously chooses out of pride and her own moral compass to be true, rather than being Too Pure To Lie.
As for real prompts, there's a lot of ways they can come together (in a setting AU or fudging the time these plays are set a bit). Maybe it's after the events of r&j, where Juliet decides to run away, maybe seeking vengeance for Romeo's death, rather than kill herself, and maybe she gets to England, or to France after Cordelia is married, and she decides to stick there and Cordelia teaches her how to fight (I love how she becomes a warrior queen tbh). Or Cordelia is married to Escalus instead of the king of France and they meet at the Capulet party and she becomes kinda of a mentor role for Juliet!
Regarding that, for this one I'm okay with aging up Juliet, since I imagine Cordelia to be a bit older than I imagine Romeo and it can be squicky, but I'm fine with the slightly badwrong version with 14 yo Juliet and late teen/young adult Cordelia as well, as well as Cordelia being younger! Basically whatever you want. I like Romeo and Juliet as a couple, so I'd prefer no bashing/horrible breakups/overall feeling it was a mistake for them, though you can just handwave they never met too, whereas for Cordelia's marriage I'm fine with everything: love, one sided love, friendship, each other's beards etc

Murtagh Morzansson/Sansa Stark

So, this is a crack pairing I galaxy-brained when I was a teenager and it just... works in my mind. There are a lot of parallels between Murtagh's situation and Sansa's: the way they're forced into submission to survive, even when they feel awfully guilty about it, how they were made to betray their own family unwillingly, the contrast with a younger sibling that is more assertive and strongwilled and escaped the pain they're though (though arguably got worse, in poor Arya's case), the envy they have for people they view as still immature and innocent. Arguably, even the Littlefinger situation - Galbatorix does sort of view Murtagh as a replacement for Morzan, and I do love the headcanon that there was something romantic between Morzan and Galbatorix, and so there's kind of an unspoken threat Galbatorix's abuse may turn sexual, even if he doesn't really do it (or maybe he does. I make an exception to the non-con DNW for this one really)
So... prompts. I don't know how you can merge the universes - I thought of merging Galbatorix and Tywin, or possibly having the Lannisters simply be important nobles of Galbatorix's court rather than royalty, or maybe Galbatorix is this universe's perverse version of Daenerys and the story take place after he has taken over from the Lannisters? These are just ideas really, whatever you can think of. And I would love Sansa and Murtagh finding solidarity in each other in their captivity - maybe it's Murtagh who protects Sansa, or maybe Murtagh is taken when Sansa is already at court for a while, and she's the one to tell him to give up resistance for his survival and the good of his little dragon. (Also, Sansa cuddling a baby dragon! Helping Murtagh pick the name!) Just something sweet and supportive, with romance slowly being born from understanding and comfort etc. Same as above, you can just do whatever you want with the ages.

Get out (2017)

Chris Washington/Rod Williams

It just struck me as so romantic, the way this movie ended - kind of like, if Rod was a girl, this totally would be a situation where he represents the nice girl next door as a contrast to the dark horror experience he just had. I fear I don't have many prompts? But just a bit of snuggling and romance and hurt/comfort at the end would be nice, or a more elaborate thing where they plan to take down the cult together - with all the obstacles they would face, both racism and like, in general, not being believed because this is nuts etc.

Dear fffx creator

Dear creator, thank you in advance for creating something for me!
First of all, consider everything in this letter to be completely optional, especially in the case of comics, as I have never received one before and don't know well how to prompt, not to mention I'd be over the moon with everything. Length or amounf of prompts has nothing to do with my desire to receive any fandom or pairing, only how much overthinking I have done about them!
Now, here for the general stuff:

Likes

Here is the stuff that REALLY drives me crazy and is 100% guaranteed to enhance my fic if included.

- Dysfunctional yet loving relationships, especially with ships from which you really don't expect that
- Dysfunctional families and family dynamics in general
- Cute shenanigans, adventures, mysteries rescue missions
- Characters being overprotective of each other, whether as gen or ship
- Found family, characters recovering from past abuse and bad experiences with each other's help
- Physical affection, fluff, people having fun together and finding things they share
- Past relationships, exes, background ships, background characters: this was meant to be an opt in, but honestly I just really love to see a nicely fleshed out world if the plot of the fic allows it
- Revenge stories

DNWs
- Rape/noncon (unless said otherwise or canon backstory
- Cheating
- Unrequited love that doesn’t end either with getting together or with the pining character meeting someone else
- Sex scenes (most sexual elements are perfectly fine. Mentions, jokes, quick descriptions even if graphic or kinky are fine. I just don't want lengthy porn.)
- Eating disorders/body shaming and insecurity
- A/b/o
- Mpreg
- Soulmates AU
- Slavefic

Romeo and Juliet

So, general stuff about this fandom: I always enjoy setting AUs with Shakespeare stuff, but for this play I'd prefer that the new setting didn't completely eliminate the feud and the possibly lethal stakes of it. I'd prefer for Juliet to be her canon age, for Romeo to be 15/16 and the other boys no older than their late teens. As for comics, I'd prefer to see your headcanon/idea of how everyone looks like, but if you need a reference the 1968 movie is my favorite, as well as the Italian musical version. But feel free to mix and match adaptations too! Now for the ships:

A story of how their relationship evolved (from childhood friends, maybe?) would be really sweet, either in fic or in comic.

Mercutio/Benvolio Montague/Romeo Montague

Mostly same as above, but with a poly twist: how did all these kids met each other? How did their friendship progress? What is the impact of the feud on them? How much Romeo and Benvolio worry about Mercutio on a daily basis? This is a very nice ship for some fun shenanigans, such as pranks to the Capulets, adventures and so on, but there's also angst potential: who got together first? Was anyone jealous? I think a thing I love about them is how they each have their dynamic with each of the other two and these dynamics can conflict a little, so I'd be really interested in the emotional arc of them finally figuring they're in love with each other, ALL in love. Feel free to heap on communication issues and inability to understand their own feelings, they're teenagers after all, it's more than normal

A Song of Ice and Fire

I strongly prefer no setting AUs for this one - I'm just enamored with the politics and aesthetic of Westeros. I'm also significantly more okay with porn in this one, though i' d still prefer no pwp.

Asha Greyjoy/Arianne Martell

These girls would get along so well. I think they're a very similar character concept (absent mother, father's heir but It's Complicated, possible usurping younger brother, using Sex To Cope) with different aesthetics and personalities, which is just gorgeous for a comic - the contrast of Dornish and Ironborn looks and clothing and so on. I'd like something where they - for whatever reason - have been fostered together and knew each other a long time. Them being allies in the same war, with Arianne seducing Asha to the Targaryen side both in a literal sense and with a compelling reasoning, would be wonderful. Hurt/Comfort is also very welcome, for example after battle, or their respective brothers' deaths. I am particularly fascinated by the Greyjoy family dynamics so go wild on the intrigue/weirdness on that one!

Jaime Lannister/Catelyn Stark

These two are so hot. I struggle to prompt actual plot for them because thing is - I just enjoyed their dialogues so much? I adore how Jaime is still so hung up on Catelyn's "shit for honor" remark two whole books later.
During canon events, more conversations between them during Jaime's captivity would be awesome, or why not, Catelyn goes to King's Landing with him to oversee the rescue of their daughters! Maybe they meet Arya as well. How do the kids react to all this? In a more backstory sense, I would be interested in the events of Jaime's visit to the Tullys and why he found Catelyn more interesting than Lysa. What did they talk about for him to have such an opinion? Of course any "four teenagers (plus baby Edmure) unsupervised in a castle" shenanigans are welcome.

Jaime Lannister/Ned Stark/Catelyn Stark - Jaime Lannister/Ned Stark - Jaime Lannister/ Cersei Lannister/ Ned Stark

My ideas about these are all very similar really! I've seen some really good prompts about how to make them happen - Ned having joined the Kingsguard before Brandon's death and now Benjen is the heir and Catelyn is married to Jaime, Jaime has to go to the wall after Aerys' murder and stops at winterfell, Ned and Cersei are married and Jaime can't help running after his sister, anything to get them in the same place is fine by me. If Ned still marries Cersei, does he still have Jon with him? How do things go with him? Does he ever find out about the Meggy prophecy? It would be so soft for Cersei to be able to actually reveal her fears to someone, and poly would be wonderful for the twins' codepedency

Six of Crows

Kaz/Inej & Jesper/Wylan & Matthias/Nina - Matthias Helvar/Nina Zenik - Kaz Brekker/Inej Ghafa

So, for these ships I am mostly interested in post ending stuff. The group tag could inspire another adventure or heist, or meeting at a wedding and going on a drunken prank spree in town, or running to help each other in the moment of need: anything you might have fun writing. I ship Wesper very much, but I'd prefer to read them in an ensamble context, since their ending is the one that leaves the least unsaid.
For Inej/Kaz on their own, you could write me Kaz joining Inej on her ship, Kaz meeting her parents and how they explain their story, Kaz doing a stint in the Ghafas' circus as a magician, why not! There's so much. In general I am interested in a slow burn resolution to their fascinating and complex relationship. I would prefer any sex to be VERY slow burn and respectful of their issues here.
For Matthias and Nina... This would necessarily be an AU, but if Matthias doesn't die, what do they do in Fjerda? I'd be interested in how they could carry on their mission of changing Fjerda attitudes against the Grisha. Do they establish themselves as activists there? Or are they always kinda clandestine freedom fighters?

Jesper Fahey/Nina Zenik - Jesper Fahey&Nina Zenik

The idea behind this ship is: what if Jesper was able to go study in Ravka and he and Nina met before the rest? They could be friends of have an I'll advised teenage fling, but any interactions between these chaotic bisexuals in a literal magic school would be delicious

King Lear

Unfortunately I have no real visual reference for this one as I have only seen a live production! Feel free to use any existing one as well as just using your headcanon looks for each character.

Cordelia & Edgar & Edmund & Goneril & Reagan

From the play, you get a feeling of all these kids having grown up together and having history, so I'd love some stories of their childhood and teenage years. Was Cordelia always a bit of a outcast or did it come with age? How did the girls react to their marriages? I prompted gen, but feel free to ship anyone in this little group. Gloucester also mentions Edmund getting sent abroad, so was there any reason for that?

Cordelia/King of France

I'm very curious about their marriage. France is obviously into Cordelia, but does she love him back at all? Does she falls for him slowly? What do they talk about? He's so awesome to her, but you also get the feeling he doesn't fully understand her - he chalks up her proud defiance to shyness and modesty. So, does he ever figure out the extent of the dysfunction of her family and how much experience with deceit she has? Is he excited about her leading an army in her own right? There's so much potential.

Inheritance Cycle

Eragon&Murtagh Morzansson - Nasuada/Murtagh Morzansson

Minerva McGonagall/Mrs Marple

This is just such a delightful concept. My idea of it is, there's a murder at Hogwarts, in any era - Harry's years, New gen, Marauders, whenever. Mrs Marple is called to solve it - maybe it's McGonagall herself who called her, knowing her from her childhood maybe, or maybe she's actually distrustful of this muggle who seems to put so much stock in gossip. Do they clash during the investigation? Do they grow to respect each other? I like the idea of McGonagall following Mrs Marple around in cat form because she doesn't trust her and the awkwardness when Mrs Marple just obliviously cuddles her and throws her some yarn. But I just want to see some sweet romance - bickering and making out and going on Hogsmeade dates or whatever. There's such an empty niche for old ladies femslash! Where is the Valvert equivalent?
Regarding the mystery, I'd love something similar to what Mrs Marple mysteries usually are, with the solution being tied to the secrets of several people and town gossip, with plenty of uncovering skeletons in the closets of the poor suspects, even if they're innocent - what drama do the Hogwarts teachers get up to?

Dear AU Exchange Writer

Hello, dear writer!
First of all, let me emphasize I have total trust in you and I want you to feel free to go ODAO, combine different prompts and free forms as you wish and in general go wild. I'm easy to please. How much I elaborate on a given fandom prompt absolutely doesn't indicate how much I'd love to receive it - if it's longer, it just means that I had already planned to request it, as opposed to seeing in the tagset and thinking I'd really love to read it. This said, onwards to the lists

Likes

Here is the stuff that REALLY drives me crazy and is 100% guaranteed to enhance my fic if included.

- Dysfunctional yet loving relationships, especially with ships from which you really don't expect that
- Dysfunctional families and family dynamics in general
- Cute shenanigans, adventures, mysteries rescue missions
- Characters being overprotective of each other, whether as gen or ship
- Found family, characters recovering from past abuse and bad experiences with each other's help
- Physical affection, fluff, people having fun together and finding things they share
- Past relationships, exes, background ships, background characters: this was meant to be an opt in, but honestly I just really love to see a nicely fleshed out world if the plot of the fic allows it

- Underage as long as it's over 13 and without like… 10+ age gaps or manipulation
- Torture and violence, though I prefer it not be excessively graphic
- Suicide/self harm
- Abuse, as long as it isn't a requested character being the abuser

I just don't want lengthy porn)
- Eating disorders/body shaming and insecurity
- A/b/o
- Mpreg
- Soulmates AU

Now, getting more specific about the fandoms

Romeo and Juliet - Shakespeare

So, first a couple fandom-specific things: I don’t particularly love when AUs completely erase the canon feud and the violence, but I make an exception for the writing group AU where you can choose whether to keep it or not. I prefer Juliet to be left her canon age, Romeo to be 15-16 and for the other boys to not be aged up past their teens. I also, as I think you can see, read Romeo and Juliet as sympathetic and genuinely in love.

Juliet Capulet/Romeo Montague
Mercutio/Benvolio Montague
Benvolio Montague/Tybalt
Mercutio/Tybalt
Benvolio Montague & Romeo Montague & Mercutio

All: gang war AU, All: criminals AU

I think the canon conflicts modernized translate very well into this kind of AU, and I would love to see something about the kids’ involvement in it. Set in Italy or americanized is fine. Conflicted loyalties, fights and subsequent hurt/comfort, kidnappings and subsequent hurt/comfort, “casefic” (mission fic? Heist fic?), angst of having your life chosen for you and the adults’ expectations etc. I generally imagine Tybalt and Benvolio (and Mercutio as an ally on the Montague side, or even better being torn between two sides, if you write Tycutio/set up a love triangle) to be more involved, while the main characters have been kept more sheltered as heirs/younger/Juliet being a girl.

ALL: Writing critique group

You can use any ship or all five kids as a group here, maybe in a school club. I’m really curious of what kind of genre each of them would have. I’d love to see some Heated Debates.

ALL: More people live/fewer people die AU
You can take this several directions, tragically.
- Romeo is somehow stopped before getting to the grave, causing Juliet to wake up alone and them having to find a way back together
- Tybalt or Mercutio or both survive the duel, possibly after hurting each other. How does their relationship change? This is also nice for some sweet hurt/comfort for Bencutio or Montacrew gen - whether Mercutio is badly hurt, or Romeo realizes he has murdered Tybalt for no reason
- Romeo and Juliet manage to leave for Mantua together and go on a fun self discovery journey around Italy and idk relax for once
- Romeo and Juliet somehow announce their marriage without their parents murdering them. Shenanigans happen at the subsequent family events as disgruntled Montagues and Capulets are forced together (good for Tycutio or Tyvolio)

ALL: Batfamily AU, ALL: Costumed vigilante AU

So… I kind of like the idea of someone, Escalus or Friar Lawrence or Nurse or some generic adult, I’m not picky, deciding to Do Something about the disaster in Verona and creating some kind of vigilante identity, gathering whatever orphaned/unwanted/just really eager to throw hands kids they can find in a cute little sidekick family. This idea was originally born as Tybalt/Benvolio, with two orphaned/unwanted nephews from both families being chosen as an attempt of reconciliation, only for them to have a bitter rivalry and completely different attitudes to it. But it would also be nice to see how Romeo and Juliet, extremely soft as they are, would deal with this, or the Montacrew as a crime fighting trio!

ALL: Canon couple are just friends

I’ve read a headcanon somewhere that suggested an AU where Romeo and Juliet simply make friends (maybe they’re gay, your choice, you can pair them with whomever, requests don’t really apply to this one) and try to do something against the hate between their houses. How does the story evolve in this case? What do they bond about? How does their conversation at the ball go?

ALL: Character gets another character’s help they didn’t get in canon

This is a bit vague, but you can have it as one character saving another, for example during the duels or suicides, or as offering mental health help/emotional support. Especially Tybalt seems to have a lot of shit going on, with his anger issues and weird family dynamics and whatnot, I’d like Benvolio (condescendingly) or Mercutio (pretty ineffectually) to try to help him. For the Montacrew, one specific idea I have is Romeo and Benvolio calming down Mercutio during the queen Mab speech (following the interpretation of it being some kind of delirious breakdown) and trying to figure out what’s going on and helping him. You have total carte blanche on what that is.

Inheritance Cycle

Murtagh/Nasuada

Murtagh and baby Thorn are rescued before Galbatorix can find their true names

Pretty self explanatory but with lots of potential. The hurt comfort of Murtagh's recovery from torture and trauma, the utter iddy fluff of them trying to figure how to raise a baby dragon - any direction is good. I headcanon that Galbatorix and Murtagh's father were a Thing and I like the idea of Galbatorix causing him some sexual trauma, either by directly raping him or by showing him some "distressing" memories of his heydey, so if you want to take a particularly angsty direction there's that, but if and only if it inspires you. . I love some competence porn from Nasuada, and I love the idea of a strong woman like her being able to rely on genuine support and love. Murtagh could probably have lots of insights for her as someone experienced with Galbatorix's court, and there would be a minefield of issues to navigate due to whether people would trust Murtagh, leading to a stracrossed romance situation. Would be nice to see how they play out.

Canonically dead parent survives to raise their children

I can see this two ways: Murtagh having to Prove Himself A Good Match to Ajihad (feel free to apply any canon divergence here, the aforementioned au, au where Murtagh is never captured etc)
OR we see more of Selena and her relationship with Murtagh. She's a very intriguing character and very morally gray, so what would her reaction to this relationship and her son being a rider be? Is she happy for him? Is she proud of how he changed his true name, like she did? Is she conflicted about the path he has chosen in tying himself to the queen of Alagaesia?

Hogwarts AU, Shadowhunters AU

Feel totally free. I imagine Nasuada and Murtagh as Slytherin prefects in the Hogwarts au, and for Shadowhunters maybe something between Young Institute Leader/Antihero in a Jace-like situation?

ALL: surprise pregnancy reveals AU detail during past canon captivity

The detail being that they banged in captivity (yea, not very realistic i know) and how the hell does the queen of Alagaesia deal with that? How does Murtagh react, coming back to Alagaesia to find he has a baby /toddler/smol child

All: modern setting but still canon universe

This is purely an excuse to read modern AU dragon riding. You can do either of the other prompts in this setting, or you can take it in a more college/high school AU setting but with dragons

A song of ice and fire

Sansa Stark/Willas Tyrell
Elia Martell/Ned Stark
Cersei Lannister/Jaime Lannister/Ned Stark
Cersei Lannister/Ned Stark
Jaime Lannister/Ned Stark

ASOIAF: No Tully/Stark and Tully/Arryn double wedding; everyone involved married different people

So… I owe several favors to whoever came up with this prompt bc 'older generation arranged marriage crackship ficlet' is one of my favorite asoiaf fic genres. I wasn't able to submit Jaime/Catelyn/(Cersei) and Stannis/Catelyn, but those are options as well. I'm really interested in the personality/culture clash aspect of these, plus kid fic and how different their children would be from the canon ones, and what their family dynamics would be. Does culture clash impact how they raise said children? I'd also be curious to see who married whom, beyond the ship that is in focus, so even a passing mention of that would be great.

Ned and Elia would likely get along like a house on fire, but have a hell of an acclimation process in front of them, whether they live in Winterfell or in Dorne, so for them I'm mostly imagining fluff and cute adventures.

Ned marrying Cersei (and potentially falling in love with Jaime too along the way) would be an absolute hot mess. I'd love poor Ned being surrounded by dysfunction on all sides but trying valiantly to set things right in his new home - for one thing, poly would REALLY benefit the twins, and having a kind husband with a good definition of consent would benefit Cersei. Also having a little direwolf might benefit Cersei.
Same dynamic with Catelyn marrying a young Jaims, depressed and disaffected after being dishonorably discharged from the kingsguard.

ALL: Future Arranged Spouses are Forbidden To Meet But Able To Study One Another's Hobbies

This isn't too far from canon in asoiaf, especially with these characters that live in different kingdoms and don't really have a reason to meet before. It would be especially lovely with Sansa/Willas, either in the canon situation (but then I'd prefer them to wait a few years for romance and sex, as Sansa is 12 at the time) or in more relaxed circumstances, in a no-plot AU or in the end after Sansa is back in winterfell as queen in the north or adviser to her brother or whatever. They all have such adorable interests, it would be so cute to see a older, hardened Sansa wrangling a mountain of puppies or a serious, studious Willas attentively studying some teen girl's favorite ballads or trying embroidery.

With the other ships, I love the idea of people getting a completely different idea of each other than the reality. Jaime/Cersei expecting God knows what because Ned's interests are mostly martial then getting a sweet dork etc. In this situation, I allow you to do a 'homophobia doesn't exist and Ned and Jaime can marry' AU if needed.

ALL: Writing Critique Group AU

Especially nice for Sansa and Willas, who I both totally imagine would be writers and very nice about it (I would prefer a slightly aged up Sansa here). For the others… Well, first of all I'm, again, very interested in what genres they would write. Does Jaime write thinly veiled twin erotica/soulmate romance and does it completely go over Ned's head? Do Cersei and Ned/Jaime and Catelyn have Heated Debates about themes interpretation and symbolism? Lots of potential.

ALL: Murderer/Criminal Psychologist

This is so badwrong and fitting. So, the combinations I'd prefer are
- Sansa as the murderer, either of Joffrey or something tied with her family tragedy, Willas as the psychologist
- I can see either Elia or Ned as either. There would be a lot of tragedy in either, as I love the contrast between their sweetness and the reality of the murder. Maybe a gang war AU where one of them was pressured by their family, or Ned killed Rhaegar after the Lyanna Situation, or Elia was forced to kill to defend their children but was denied self defence bc circumstances aren't clear
- Ned as Jaime's psychologist: I'd prefer this one set with a teenage Jaime and young adult intern/assistant/PhD student Ned, so it can be set newly after Jaime's murder of Aerys. What changes in a timeline where Ned stops judging Jaime eventually? Again, I think I would also love Catelyn in this role.
- Ned as Cersei's psychologist: oh boy what a cluster fuck. I have no idea who Cersei might have murdered. Robert? Her father after he found the incest out? This would especially destroy her. But it would be cool.

Six of Crows

PS:
You have my warmest permission to ignore that one death at the end of Crooked Kingdom

Group: The Crows
Matthias Helvar/Nina Zenik (I'm… Really sorry I managed to misspell both names in the nomination and didn't notice until now)
Kaz Brekker/Inej Ghafa
Jesper Fahey & Nina Zenik
Jesper Fahey/Wylan Van Eck
Jesper Fahey/Nina Zenik
Jesper Fahey

Six of Crows: Jesper is able to go study in Ravka and develop his powers

Self explanatory: his dad/parents decide it would be good for him to learn using his powers (Colm I love you but COME ON) and he grows up in the Little Palace in Ravka. You can have it as pure character study, him meeting Nina and having either a teenage puppy love or a really chaotic friendship, him having an AU meeting with Wylan. How does his ADHD still impact him with much lower stress tied to his powers but now with the added pressure of a structured school environment? If his mom still dies, how does that change his attitude? Does he ever meet the Crows? Does he fight in the war? Etc etc. Alternatively, just school shenanigans are lovely.

ALL: Writing Critique Group AU

I LOVE this free-form. Especially good for group dynamics. I can see every single couple launching into heated debates, a lot of competition going on. Also I'm very curious to see what genres they'd write.

ALL: Umbrella Academy Fusion ALL: Shadowhunters AU

Just unleash your imagination! I'd love them as a demon-fighting team, and I'd love to see what their superpowers would be

ALL: Winter Soldier storyline

Someone being psychologically conditioned and set against their group… I'd especially love it with Nina or Inej. Nina being conditioned by her Grisha teachers to remember her duty and betray her friends, Inej being reminded (maybe during her torture by Van Eck) that she's an honest girl, a wholesome, decent girl, that if she goes against the criminals maybe she'll have her real family again etc etc. Of course the angst would still be high with any of the boys, if you have ideas for them!

ALL: Murderer/Criminal Psychologist

For this one, I'm ok with literally every combination, and it's especially fun when the criminal psychologist isn't really all that more morally upright.
Obviously does require some aging up.

ALL: Character meets the parallel universe counterpart of their dead SO

Not necessarily dead, but I'm in love with any combination of this. Especially, for this situation, a character meeting the version of their SO that never had the starting point they get in canon and is a fairly commonplace, innocent person: Inej meeting young farmer Kaz Brekker and trying to rope him into joining her circus, Matthias meeting a non-Grisha Nina or Nina meeting a Matthias whose family survived the attack and never became a Druskelle but also is scared of her rather than hating her, Jesper meeting a Wylan that managed to deceive his father regarding his dyslexia and so is still accepted into his home, but a nervous wreck about being found out.
